Something Different

Image Description: A very pregnant woman with shoulder-length auburn hair sits cross-legged on a bed, with a quizzical expression on her face. She is wearing a pair of green pajama pants with white spots, and a gray t-shirt that completely exposes her round belly.

Caption: Greg’s wife Anna loved to magically change her appearance challenge him to identify what was different. He’d gotten pretty good, even when she clouded his senses. So this time she tried something a little different.

“Hm,” Greg said, looking at her quizzically, shifting to accommodate his now-huge belly. “I don’t think it’s your hair, and I think your eyes are the same...is it your nose?”

Anna smirked. He’d get there eventually.

Commentary: And here it is, the last post left from the ol' Tumblr. Which means I no longer have a nice little archive to pull from every week. I've banked quite a few captions over the months, don't get me wrong, but I don't want to burn through it too quickly. So starting next week, I’ll be updating twice a week instead of three times, and it’ll probably be Monday and Friday. Bookend your work week with all-new captions!

A Quick Pic

Image Description: A very pregnant woman with long dark hair, a black-and-white striped shirt, and denim overalls, holds up her pink polka-dot cell phone and smiles brightly. She has a grumpy-looking bulldog on a leash and is wearing purple tennis shoes, standing in front of some metal mailboxes.

Caption: "Sandra! Hi! It's been too long! Yeah, should just be another week or two. I'm just ready to be a mom now, you know?

Terry? Oh, he's right here! I've had him on a pretty tight leash ever since I found out he was sleeping with you.

You thought I didn't know? Oh honey, you have a lot to learn, but I'll be happy to teach you. Just let me snap one quick pic—it'll be...what, twenty years before you look like that again?

That's assuming I don't make you a boy; I mean, I already have a girl on the way, and if I'm going to have twins, it might be nice to have some variety. Terry went through a similar change, and he liked it so much that he's going to have a litter of puppies!

Oh, don't look so scared. You'll spend a year on your back, waited on hand and foot. You'll love it, I'm sure.

You know, just before I changed him, Terry said he'd love to see the two of us together. Well, we'll never be closer than this!"

Commentary: I don't think of unbirthing as something I have much interest in, but I've definitely done some captions in that direction. Hmmm...

Approaching Perfection

Image Description: A naked pregnant woman with short brown hair stands on one leg in a kitchen next to a refrigerator. She has one hand on the top of the fridge, while her other hand holds the heel of the black high-heeled shoe she's wearing.

Caption: Barry seemed nice when Sheila first met him, but once they got married, he suddenly had these "traditional" ideas. "A woman's place is in the kitchen," he would often say proudly. "Why do you need so many shoes? The perfect woman should be barefoot and pregnant."

Sheila could complain, but she supposed that when you married young, there would always be those little surprises. For instance, she never told him she was a witch. Now Barry's working on being more perfect himself. So far she's got the kitchen covered, and she's a pro at the bare and pregnant parts.

She's even starting to understand the allure of shoes!

Commentary: New content Friday! Hope you enjoy it!

Setback

Image Description: A heavily pregnant woman with long blonde hair stands with a large barbell over her shoulders. She is wearing a pink-and-gray sports bra and black exercise shorts with pink piping, and she's looking at the camera.

Caption: Geoff Shaw stood on the stage at the World's Strongest Man competition, ready to accept the award he'd worked toward his entire life. A moment later, he was sitting on a toilet, looking down at a positive pregnancy test and a very different body. On the news, they called it the Great Shift, but Geoff just called it a setback. Seven months later, Geoff certainly wasn't in world-class shape, but it was a start.

He made it to the stage once before, and she'd do it again.

Pregnancy Wave: Sold Out

Image Description: Four pregnant women stand in a tight group. All four wear sunglasses and have long, dark hair, and three of them in ponytails. The one on the left is wearing a pink bra top and pink-and-turquoise leggings, the next wears a black sports bra and gray spandex shorts, the third has a black-and-white patterned sports bra and a pair of dark gray short shorts, and the fourth has a gray sports bra and gray shorts.

Caption: The Pregnancy Wave hit hard, transforming 80% of the population in affected areas into women at various stages of pregnancy. Simon and his pals here slept through the wave after a night of heavy drinking, so they were late to discover its first unexpected consequence: sold-out maternity clothing departments.

Needless to say, it was the last time any of them would be drinking—or sleeping through the night—for a while.

Commentary: The Pregnancy Wave is a bit of an homage to some things that Mindi Flyth has done. Hopefully I'll get to come back to it at some point!

Not Cut Out for Parenthood

Image Description: In low light against a black background, a naked, heavily pregnant woman with long, cascading hair looks wistfully at her swollen belly while stretching out, leaning against a stool.

Caption: I never wanted kids. I admit that I could have been more up-front about that before we got married, but I just don't have any desire to be a parent. I avoided the conversation for years, but she finally forced it. I told her the truth, that I'd never want kids. She just got this weird glimmer in her eye and said I'd change my mind eventually.

Then somehow she turned me into a girl. She said early on that she was a witch, but I thought she was just being hard on herself, you know? The worst part is that it took months for me to even realize. Everything from that time is kind of hazy, but eventually I noticed that my body had completely changed, and I was missing some key parts.

I still don't want kids. That hasn't changed, though maybe it will someday. I've still got some time before it's an issue. Right now I'm just waiting, growing bigger every day, and wondering if she'll ever change me back to normal.

Even if she doesn't, it's not all bad. I mean, in a few weeks, I'll get to suck on tits the size of my head whenever I want. That alone will make nine months inside her almost worth it.

Commentary: Another longer-form one, but I think it works well with the twist. Also, what an artsy picture there. Just gorgeous.

Every Step

Image Description: A woman with shoulder-length brown hair is walking outdoors, looking backward at herself. She is wearing a low-cut white shirt, a necklace, a brown skirt that stretches over her pregnant belly, and red shoes with wedge heels.

Caption: "Every step will change you," the witch promised Derek. "Until you become a better person."

He'd rolled his eyes and walked away from the crazy old broad. Witchcraft? Seriously? What a loon.

Derek didn't feel the changes as he walked home, not until he had to push the strands of long, brown hair out of his face. He looked down to see a wholly unfamiliar body—a woman's body! And an attractive one at that! He jumped backward in shock, and his hair grew another few inches. He suddenly needed to get home, and in the fewest steps possible.

He stretched his legs as far as his new skirt would allow, but the changes continued. He nearly fell over when his ratty old sneakers suddenly became a pair of dark red closed-toe wedges. He took a few tentative steps, and began to think that maybe it wasn't so bad. He'd been pretty miserable—and a real jerk to that old woman—but this might be the kind of change he needed to turn his life around.

Debra smiled as he watched his butt bubble outward over the next few steps. She was becoming quite the hottie! She was a little disappointed when she stopped seeing any more changes to her backside, despite taking several more steps down the road, but she'd be in for a very big, unexpected surprise when she looked forward again!

Commentary: This is one of my favorite pictures I've found for captioning. It took a bit to come up with the right cap, but I like how the story turned out.

Reading Glasses

Image Description: A pregnant woman with long brown hair, dressed in a lacy black bra and an oversized white button-down shirt looks down at something, confused.

Caption: Shit! That wasn't a spell for eternal life! That was a spell for internal life!

That's it, no more spellcasting without my reading glasses.

Commentary: Only now am I realizing just how vague the transformation here is. Like, the shirt implies that it's gender transformation, but it could just be a sudden pregnancy, too. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. Death of the author!

Expecting

Image Description: A topless, heavily pregnant woman with long, wavy brown hair stands looking out a window, holding her breasts with her hands.

Caption: May started asking me to swap bodies with her as soon as she saw those two blue lines. "Please, just a couple of weeks, until the morning sickness is over," she begged. "You know I have a thing about throwing up."

I always thought I was a good, loving husband. We shared everything else equally—and I admit, I was a little curious about the whole thing—so I agreed, as long as she was there to help out. She—he—left before I was showing. Said he just needed a break, but he'd be back before the first trimester was up.

That was thirty-two weeks ago. He's missed every doctor's visit, every birthing class, every chapter of What to Expect. He doesn't even know that we're having triplets.

I never want to see him again.

But I still wait by the window, every day, watching to see if he pulls up, so I can tell him to his face that he'll never get to see my babies.

Commentary: The pregnant body swap is a pretty well-worn trope in TG fiction, but I like to think that this is a bit of a different spin on the usual idea.

One Mother to Another

Image Description: A mostly-naked, heavily pregnant woman with long black hair leans against a black chair and points at her swollen belly with one red-gloved hand, while she gives the camera a sly look.

Caption: "That's right, Esperelda, I am David. Your daughter, Amanda, suspected me of cheating, so she turned me into a woman. But I'm sure you heard all about it, since you're the head of the coven. Or maybe this was your plan to begin with? I know you've never approved of our marriage. You're probably the one who convinced her that I was unfaithful. It's true, I was keeping a secret from her, but it wasn't a mistress. It was my own magical talent. Where's Amanda? Why, she's right here. the maternal instinct came on so suddenly that I just couldn't help myself. It's okay, though, you'll be with her again very soon. I mean, I can't very well have Amanda growing up as an only child. No, twins are clearly the way to go. But I think this time around, you'll be better off as a boy. See you again in a few months, 'mom'!"

Commentary: This isn't my best work. The "Special Edition" version of this cap would get rid of a lot of that clumsy "as you know, Bob" stuff at the beginning. But I really like the image, and while unbirthing isn't my usual thing, it's fun for these occasional punishment caps.

Full of Life

Image Description: A long-haired, heavily pregnant brunette woman in an orange bikini, sunglasses, and a head scarf smiles as she holds a glass of white wine out toward the viewer.

Caption: "Oh, wow," Brady said, apparently unaware of the changes. "You've got to try this. I've never felt so full of life!"

Commentary: I like the brevity, but if I were to do this today, I'd probably find a less clunky way of indicating Brady's obliviousness. Wow, is this the first pregnancy caption I've (re)posted so far? Won't be the last!
